Casa Gorordo

Published by

Casa Gorordo is a house built in the mid-19th century by Alejandro Reynes which was later on bought by Juan Isidro de Gorordo in 1863. A scion of the Gorordo’s, Juan (1862-1934), became the first Filipino bishop of Cebu (1910-32).

Casa Gorordo is one of the three remaining houses in Cebu city’s Parian district that dates back to the Spanish colonial period. Currently a lifestyle museum under the the care of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Incorporated, it features antique furnishings that give visitors a glimpse of a typical upper class household in Cebu during the Spanish colonial-era.
