Malabuyoc is a town located in the southwestern coast of Cebu province. The parish dedicated to San Nicolas de Tolentino was established on June 16, 1832. Construction of the church of cut-coral stones followed thereafter.

The interior of the church is modern.

Across the church is a watchtower which now houses a museum.
