Lighthouse in Bagacay Point

Published by

This lighthouse was built in 1904 inside a property designated by Governor-General William Howard Taft in Bagacay Point in the northern town of Lilo-an. It is one of the few remaining lighthouses in the country that serves as an example of American colonial architecture. It stands at 72 feet tall and guides approaching ships as far as 17 miles from the sea. Nearby are the stone ruins of what seems to be an earlier lighthouse.
