Rizal Memorial Library & Museum

Published by

The Rizal Memorial Library and Museum is a pre-war neoclassical edifice along Osmeña Boulevard near the provincial capitol. The city public library occupies the ground level while a graceful staircase outside the building leads to the city museum at the second floor. A spacious multi-purpose hall occupies the third level.

During World War II, this building was temporarily occupied by Perpetual Succour Hospital.

The City must build an extension building with similar design beside/around it so that this will become a complete library-archive and not library-museum. The entire block must be for this facility alone. The commercial building and the Red Cross must be transferred somewhere else.
