Compania Maritima

Published by

Popularly known as Compania Maritima, this three-level building which was built in 1910 on reclaimed land at the port area is actually the Fernandez building. It was occupied by the Shamrock Hotel during the pre-war years and was later leased by the Compania Maritima to house its corporate offices.

Details of the arches and the balusters.

Constructed out of poured concrete, this building features arched windows at the third level and balusters at the roof deck. A few walks away from this building are several warehouses built during the early 20th-century.

A plan to adaptively reuse this building into a maritime museum is being considered by the city government.
